The rumor started on Reddit, with a picture showing an oddly shaped 3D printer called “Bambu Lab H2D.”
The image also indicates the following information:
- H2D Dimensions (H2D尺寸): 492 * 514 * 626 mm³
- AMS 2 Pro Dimensions (AMS 2 Pro 尺寸): 372 * 280 * 226 mm³
- Package Size (包装尺寸): 620 * 620 * 755 mm³
In the picture, we can also distinguish what seems to be two nozzles.
Except for that, we don’t have much to go on.
So, what should we think of this?
It’s hard to take this seriously for a couple of reasons. The first one is obviously that it doesn’t tell us much, and the odd shape is also off-putting. Some people noticed that for an ad, it’s strange that the “Bambu Lab” above the dimension looks weird and doesn’t have the little “mark” to it. Edit: The Bambu Lab logo on the X1C, P1S, and even the AMS doesn’t have the notch. It only has it when it’s standalone.
The second one is that Bambu Lab clearly stated back in October that the new printer will:
- This new printer will integrate technology that pushes the boundaries of consumer 3D printing
- It will be positioned above our current X1 Series, targeting prosumers who demand cutting-edge performance
- We’re focusing on features that will enable capabilities previously not possible in consumer 3D printing
Just from the picture, it doesn’t look like this “integrate(s) technology that pushes the boundaries of consumer 3D printing.” However, Bambu Lab’s claim could be software-related and, therefore, not something we would see in a picture.
In any case, what we can say about this rumor is that it sparked many reactions. Many people are looking at Bambu Lab to see what comes next and whether or not this printer is real; we probably won’t know the whole story until Bambu Lab reveals it to us.
