A few days ago, XTouch‘s main developer hinted on the Discord channel that a new Pro version was coming. Today, things got a bit more official with the release of a new website with more information.
First, if you are currently using XTouch and are afraid you’ll lose some functionality, don’t be. There will still be a free version, and the current functionalities will actually be expanded. As announced on the website, XTouch will support local mode again, and even Klipper printers. AMS support is also coming for Bambu Lab printers. The only thing you will lose is the OTA update. However, we can expect that manual firmware updates will still be easily achievable, as they are today.
On the other hand, the Pro version seems to target print farms with support for up to 30 printers simultaneously (10 Bambu Lab Cloud printers, 10 Bambu Lab local printers, and 10 Klipper printers). The AMS functionality will be extended to allow “custom material presets.” The Pro version will also allow you to browse files on the XTouch SD card, allowing you to start prints directly from the XTouch screen. Object Skipping, OTA Updates, Chamber Temperature (with additional hardware), and an RFID/NFC functionality (with additional hardware) are also included in the Pro version. Finally, Pro users will receive priority support.
We don’t know when this new version will be available or how much it will cost. We will keep you updated when it is out or when more information is available.
