As announced on MakerWorld through the System notifications, MakerWorld China is coming on June 18th, 2024. The full announcement is at the bottom of this article. Read carefully if you do not wish your models and print profiles to be synced with MakerWorld China.
MakerWorld China will be accessible through the makerworld.com.cn URL. It will enable Chinese users to access models more quickly, facilitate one-step printing, and offer easier navigation while providing a localized interface.
But that’s not all; MakerWorld will link MakerWorld China and MakerWorld Global. This means they will sync all your eligible models and print profiles from MakerWorld Global to MakerWorld China. Increasing their exposure and potential to earn rewards.
The following models and print profiles will be eligible for the sync:
- Original Type: Your original creations will be synced to MakerWorld China.
- Visibility: Only models and Print Profiles set to “Public” visibility will be synced.
The following models will not be synced:
- NSFW Content: Models deemed as “Not Safe for Work” (NSFW) will not be synced.
Regarding the rewards, points and Boost rewards earned on MakerWorld China will automatically be credited to your global account. You can easily track these in your earnings history and analytics dashboard.
For consistency, the Point and Boost incentive rules will remain the same across both MakerWorld websites.
Moreover, you won’t have to maintain your models and print profiles on both websites manually. Changes made to MakerWorld Global will be reflected on MakerWorld China in a couple of hours.
To ensure proper attribution, your display name, user name, and avatar will also be synced to MakerWorld China and displayed on your models.
Finally, if you choose not to sync your models and print profiles to MakerWorld China, you can decide what is synced.
- Click your profile picture in the top right corner to go to “Account Settings.”
- Select the “Account Information” tab.
- Under “Sync Content with MakerWorld China” setting, choose your preferred option:
- Sync all models: All public models (including Standard Digital File License models) will be synced to MakerWorld China.
- Sync only CC license models: Only models with CC licenses will be synced to MakerWorld China.
- Do not sync any models: No models will be synced to MakerWorld China.
By default, all models will be synchronized if you don’t adjust the sync settings in your account. You can set it before June 18th UTC to control the syncing scope of your models when MakerWorld China launches. Of course, you can also adjust the sync option at any time after the MakerChina launches. Models that do not match the sync option will be automatically deleted within a few hours of changing the option.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of MakerWorld China on June 18, 2024! Our new Chinese site will be located at makerworld.com.cn.

As part of this exciting expansion, we will be syncing your eligible models and Print Profiles from MakerWorld Global to MakerWorld China. This means that your creations will also be available to our vast Chinese audience, significantly increasing their exposure and potential to earn rewards.
Model/Print Profile Sync Criteria
To ensure a smooth and transparent process, we want to outline the specific criteria for models and Print Profiles that will be synced.
Eligible Models and Print Profiles:
- Original Type: Your original creations will be synced to MakerWorld China.
- Visibility: Only models and Print Profiles set to “Public” visibility will be synced.
Models that Cannot Be Synced:
- NSFW Content: Models deemed as “Not Safe for Work” (NSFW) will not be synced.
Model Rewards and Updates
Global Rewards: Your efforts will be recognized on both sites. Point and Boost rewards earned on MakerWorld China will automatically be credited to your global account. This can be easily tracked in your earnings history and analytics dashboard.
Consistent Reward Rules: The Point and Boost incentive rules remain the same across both MakerWorld Global and MakerWorld China.
Automatic Updates: Once you update your models or Print Profiles on MakerWorld Global, the changes will be reflected on MakerWorld China within a few hours. This applies to editing or removing existing models and Print Profiles.
Display Name, User Name and Avatar
To ensure proper attribution, your display name, user name and avatar will also be synced to MakerWorld China and get displayed on your models.
